One of the 3 people gives you an orange before you divide the oranges up. Then you have four halves, and you can have a half as well.

Giving three people 1/2 of an orange would mean you had one and a half oranges. So unless this is a trick question like "you kill one of the people" or "one person is allergic to citrus" or something stupid like that then you can't do it.

It's not possible unless somebody gets the peel instead of orange slices or if you get another orange. Sorry!
