There is an elaborate system that follows behind DNA polymerase, checking for and repairing mistakes in pairing. There is no such repair mechanism for RNA synthesis. Why do you think this is the case?

A mistake in DNA replication would mean the death of the organism, because almost all necessary proteins would not be able to be made. In RNA replication, an error in RNA replication would mean the failure to construct ONE protein in from one ribosome in a cell. For such an insignificant loss, it would seem almost pointless to check the work of replication of mRNA.
