Well, the most popular songs musicians want to play these days seem to be rock and pop songs. Take a look at a list for the current top 20 sheet music downloads, and you will see 75% of the top 20 are either pop or rock songs, at http://download-sheet-music-online.com/

i think in the USA country and western has more listeners. However worldwide id have to say rock or pop (pop defining a lot of new musuic really)
