Nothing really. Just recently brands have been calling laptops notebooks to make them sound more upmarket, although notebooks are usually more portable; they are used on planes and trains for word processing and not for entertainment. Although that doesn't mean that a notebook cant be an entertainment laptop; my notebook is an entertainment laptop.

....Laptop's are usually medium sized,... easy and comfortable to use on your lap,.... where as notebook's tend to drop right down in size to around 11 inch's or so, for quicker, easier instant work... They're a lot more portable, than the mid size and big size 17 inch laptop's,... hence their I.D. name,... notebook's...
