The ability to choose who we want to be, what we'll do when we grow up, who we'll turn out to be. When you're a child, you can aspire to be anything and you just need to work at it to get there. I mean the US is a beautiful country, a place of joy and oppurtunity, it's just the people who take it for granted are the people who make some of this country crap....
Like the people who do drugs, the people who murder, who steal, etc. You're given the ability to be free, and people exploit that freedom and commit hurt to others.

I also like the scenery. You can drive 20 miles and you could see somthing amazingly different than what you saw 20 miles ago. I love the drives through the country side and the forests. Then watching the folliage in the fall, the miami beach in the summer, and the colorado skiing in the winter. You can find nearly everything here. From big cities, to small towns, from modernized tech, to amish villages.

But somtimes I wonder if there is too much freedom out there and not enough restriction. I mean America is becoming the fattest and stupidist nation in the whole world. Mainly because we are to rich, as an individula. There are fast food resturaunts everywhere. There are too many computer games, too many arcades. Not enough budget for schooling.

But when there is an upside, there is always a downside, you can't get the best of everything.

There are a lot of things, it's hard to just pick one. If I had to, I'd say the top rate entertainment - I think that we have by far the best television shows, the best movies, the best sports and probably the best music. I think it's something that many of us take for granted here because we've grown up around it and it's all we know. Try going to a foreign country and watching TV - it's not fun.

Honorable mentions go to job availability, education, domestic travel and land prices. Many opportunities here.

---edit: I've noticed that many are choosing freedom. While I believe that is of the utmost importance, in this day and age most of the civilized countries in the world share equal freedom that the US enjoys (see European Union for instance). I do not mean to take freedom for granted, but as more of a given, since there are so many countries that equal the US in that category (unlike the things above that I have mentioned).

I really enjoy the size and diversity of the country. America has the financial and cultural mecca of New York City. The resort paradise of Las Vegas. Tropical areas in Florida. Lakes and forests in Minnesota. There is a very wide diversity of people as well. It almost feels as if the United States is a world within itself, and the states are the countries in this world.

It's pretty awesome. But i've never been anywhere else.(Planning to though) But we need to lighten up on certain stuff and be stricter on other stuff. So for now, well, I have no idea. And the U.S says we're a free country, but we really aren't.

Freedom. Americans too often are unappreciative of the freedom that we do have as Americans. We get to vote for who we want to run our country. We are allowed to choose our religions, or not have one. We are allowed to have more than one child, more than one girl child, we have so much freedom that so many Americans take for granted all too often.

I am one American who is very appreciative of the freedom that I have, and I don't want to ever take it for granted.
