There is a hand cleaner called "GOOP". It comes in a pint or quart plastic container and is a white cream. It may remove the sharpie stain. I know it will remove ball point ink. The cleaner, though I haven't seen it for a while, could be purchased at auto parts stores. I'm not sure it is even made anymore. You may have to look around.

Also, there is a liquid call "GOOF" and it may work as well. It can be purchased at Home Depot. and its is used to remove dried latex / oil based paint. However, use care with this product since if could also remove the dye from your jeans. Test it on something else before applying to your jeans.

A previous response from abfabmom1 gave a very good suggestion and is something worth a try.

Actually, I just saw this same question in the "Best of Answers" section.

Apparently, the trick is to use hair spray on it, and dab at the stain while the hair spray is wet.

I have never heard of such a thing, honestly, but the asker said it worked!
