It depends on what country you live in. (And if in the US, sometimes what state. Some states offer more)
Unfortunately, if you are in the US, you are only guaranteed 12 weeks unpaid if you qualify under FMLA and your company has to comply. This is only thanks to the best president in recent history, Bill Clinton. Thank you so much Bill!
If not, you may only get six weeks with a regular delivery and 8 with Csection.
Some companies offer longer, so you should network with any Moms who have taken leave to get the "skinny". Pardon the pun! You do also get this with adoption.
If you live in another developed country, you probably are entitled to MUCH more. The US is so far behind.

until you have the baby then 6 weeks after that. but don't take that as you can go on maternity leave whenever you want you need a dr. note or your work has to put you out! i hope this helps

u get 26 weeks leave for all employed women and the rite to return back to same job.
u can have an additional 26 weeks unpaid maternity leave if you have been employed by the company for at least 26weeks by the 15th week b4 ur baby is due and still have the rite to return to the same job
