The characteristics of fascism are nationalism, anti-communism, militarism, and anti-liberalism. Roosevelt defined fascism as the "ownership of a government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power". Using this definition, we could say that both republican and democrat parties can be accused of having been "fascist" throughout history.
The characteristics of communism are common ownership of the means of production, a stateless social organization, and the disolving of a capitalistic society. How many democrats do you know that want to disolve their private holdings, leave Martha's Vineyard and move to East Los Angeles to be become "one" with their neighbors? I doubt many republicans would either.
So, I would have to say "No" - it is not accurate to dump either political party into the bucket of fascism or communism.

Not necessarily. But considering how far right the Republicans have gone more recently, it seems true that they are running toward fascism because they are (incorrectly) afraid of Communism. Democrats don't want communism.I don't believe Republicans notice Fascism simply because they are so busy bullying the Dems. Very clever, Karl Rove.
The Republicans also don't notice the fired US Attorneys were all appointed by Bush! They goes your party. It's a little game of "Watch this hand"

No, I don't agree.
We all know that:
Democrats equal Communists.
BUT.... Democrats are also Fascists.
Hitler was considered a Fascist. BUT his party was the National Socialist Party.
Fascist/Communist/Democrat-----all Samey, Samey.
(I apologize. I used to be a Democrat. And I was a fascist, commie bast**d.)
