Also, is there a nickname for Donald other than Don or Donny?

I think that Cody is a name in itself, if you are looking for a nickname for Dakota I would spell it Kody.

Donald:
Don
Donny
DJ (if middle or last name starts with J)

Thats all I can think of...

I've never heard anyone named Dakota called Cody. Every Cody I've ever known's given name was Cody.

I can't think of another nickname for Donald other than Donny or Don.

I've actually just heard Cody as a name itself, but I suppose it could be short for dakota. Yes Donnie/Donny is pretty much the only nickname for Donald unless you want to call him Don

I think it depends if the name Dakota is for a boy or girl. For a girl I would say nicknames would be Kota, Tah, Dah and for boys: Cody or Kody.

I don't think there is a well know nickname for Donald other than Don or Donny.

Cody is usually a name on its own. It sounds like a nickname though doesn't it? I don't think there are any nicknames for Donald besides the ones you mentioned, unless you want to go with Donna or The Donster!

I've only ever met Cody's that were Cody, not short for something else. Coady, Kody, Codie, Koadie... Other than Don or Donny, try Donno, Don Juan, Dimarco, Donald Duck.. those are names that my friend Donald got in school.

Why are you so interested in nicknames. If you want to call the child "Bill" then why name him "William". To me nicknames are silly, pick a name you like, you truly like and use it. Don't name a child a name you don't even want to say. That's just me.

Good luck.

My cousin's name is Cody - not Dakota. I've never heard Cody short for Dakota, usually it's just Kota or Dake.

It can be if you want it to be. I think it would be inventive and original. I have an uncle who's name is Donald and everyone calls him Tony. I don't know how you get the one from the other but that was all I could think of.
