I have always wanted to play flute but I never really had a chance to do so, my parents recently told me if I was interested in playing the flute to pay for it myself. Should I? I'm 16 now, and have had about 3 lessons.

I think it is great that you want to play the flute or any instrument. If you want to play it, by all means do it!! You are never too old to take up an instrument. My husband bought me a guitar for mothers day last year and I have really enjoyed playing. The flute is a great instrument. It has provided me great joy. If your heart tells you to do it, then I think you should

Well thinking of the fact that you played the recorder, the Clarinet is going to more like the recorder than the flute, but you will have to buy reeds for your Clarinet and not the Flute, but I'm going to have to say the Clarinet is easier.

Sure, flute is great. It can be a bridge to other woodwinds too, like Saxophone. Go for it.
