The Italian colors are red, white and green ....that's the Italian flag. Where did you come up with red and black? I think you should just stick with green (this is an Irish holiday and green is also on the Italian flag). Plus, Italians are known as "azzurri" (blue) for sporting events. If you really want to show both your Irish and Italian heritage wear green and blue.

I live in Italy.

Well considering that St Patty's Day is an Irish holiday for Irish heritage, save your Italian for an Italian holiday. Or you could go black, green and an eansy bit of red.

Hmm, I hadn't really thought of that...I'm also Irish and Italian. Can you find a T-shirt with an Italian print on it, and wear some Irish jewelry? That way, your colors won't clash too much. Otherwise, you could find out when Italy has its national holidays and then choose to celebrate them as well as St. Patty's Day.

Why would you want to make a show of your non-Irish heritage on an Irish holiday? Italians have their feast days too, wait until then. St. Pats is just a holiday, no one expects you to do anything but have a good time.

I don't think you should show your Italian heritage on an Irish holiday. If you want to, then go ahead. If you don't want to wear red and green, then there really isn't a possible way to do that.

I don't understand why you would want to celebrate your Italian heritage on an Irish day when St. Joseph's Day (which is when the Italians in my neighborhood celebrate their heritage) is just two days after St. Pat's Day? Can't you wait two days?

Wear a wife beater with chest hair sticking out for the Italian side. Stumble around and puke up green vomit for the Irish side.
