In 1969 when I was 20 my dad drove to the town where I was working to confront me. He strongly suspected that I was doing drugs which I was but I denied it with tears streaming down my face.
In my family I was always a good actor to get what I wanted. But this had to be a command performance. I think that the way I was able to cry like that was becauseI was tapping into the immense sadness of the break with my family. I was totally committed to this hippie thing but at the same time I regretted leaving the fold of my father's house.
I don't know whether I succeeded in convincing my dad or not. He would have liked to believe me, I'm sure and I did put on a good show. But the evidence was there. And he knew the history of some of my past performances.

I can't fake cry, but if I'm already crying about something, I can milk the tears for all they're worth. Other than that, my cute pouty face is the only weapon in my arsenal.
And no. My (insensitive) parents view crying as a sign of weakness.

No. I cry easily though so I haven't ever had to fake cry. I usually get what I want though...
