You've hit the nail on the head, most likely. Unless you have spotting or bleeding, what you're most likely experiencing is the stretching of the ligaments that hold your uterus in place, as a result of the growth of the uterus (due to fetus and placenta) and a response to the hormones that are now coursing through your body.
In a first pregnancy, this can be a bit nerve-wracking. Every little twinge can make you nervous. My suggestion, if you don't have it already, is to get the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting". It explains all of these things, and many other things besides, and can help to set your mind at ease, as well as give you tips for how to deal with this (and many other issues!)
Just a caution -- the stretching feelings will not go away any time soon. No one warns you about the discomforts of pregnancy from your ligaments stretching. Hips and pubic bone are particularly bad, but you can experience ligament pain throughout your body during pregnancy (don't ask me why, but the cartilage in my ear canal was always sensitive during the first couple of months of every pregnancy!)

sounds like round ligament pain, it is exactly as you said, your muscles and uteris stretching to make room for the baby. You will probably have these pains on and off for the rest of the pregnancy. Nothing to worry about everyone gets them. Congrats.!!!!

Maybe just stretching. Is the pain bad or like cramps? I would call your doctor and tell them so they can document it. See if they say you should come in.

It should just be the stretching and pulling of your uterus and ligaments. Bring it up to your dr. just to be safe.
