I have a 13 year old and I wanted to get her an iPod Shuffle. Just wondered what experience people have had with it. Is it sturdy? Is it difficult to download music? How much does it cost to download songs?

Thanks!

How do you download music from a cd to your iPod?

My shuffle is relatively sturdy,no scratches on it,have had it for a couple years.
What Operating System does your(or her) computer have?
iTunes is avaliable for Mac and Windows, and Gtk Pod works for Linux.
iTunes charges 99 cents per song,if you decide to buy elsewhere it's usually the same price, just make sure she is buying MP3 formatted music.

xhoneylee and minizille are talking about music pirating which is illegal, the RIAA will come and sue you for a few million a song if your not careful.
Edit:Music pirating is illegal in the United States,in Canada it isn't,check your country copyright laws.

Well iPod shuffles from experience have not been as bad as regular iPods. If it doesnt matter that it doesnt have a screen then it should do great for the job of just listening to music. iTunes Charges $0.99 per song. And if you want to add songs to the iPod you will have to have a Windows XP or 2000 computer to use iTunes. All you have to do is make a playlist and add the songs to the playlist you want and put that on the ipod.

iTunes is definitely where you want to go to get your songs for your iPod. It costs around $.99/song, so you can get all of the songs that you like without having to buy the whole albums! The Shuffle is definitely a convenient gym tool, as well as to use while you're running.

However, I was able to get mine without paying $100.00.

I found out about it on MySpace, but there was a website which offered the shuffle for free (listed below). I clicked on it, went through the motions with the promotions, and presto iPod Shuffle!

Apple apparently is going to continue to use this promotion method on the future for all of their products to build up the hype of the products before they hit the shelves. So, you know where I'll be... =P

There pretty nice.. the size it just beautiful. It looks pretty sturdy to me.. the music isn't difficult to download and doesn't cost anything if you get it from particular sites or programs.. you'll need Itunes to upload the music but download .. no need to pay.. you can use.. soulseek, or what everyone uses Limewire, but over out of 1-10 i'd give it an 8

Well my sister has a shuffle and whats easier than downloading songs onto your ipod is putting songs on your ipod from the CDs you have. It's lasted my sister about 1.5 years so it's SUPER sturdy!!!

first of all you shouldn't get your daughter a ipod shuffle because it costs about $100 just to put 100 songs, but if she gets a nano she can put more songs on for just about $100 same with the video. it costs $1 for each song on itunes, but if you don't want to waste your money just download this program called limewire where it shares music/video/program/pictures with many people for free, but be careful to not download a virus.
