Movement itself does not cause tides, however reasonable that thought might be. Tides are caused by gravitational effect, primarily of the moon and sun. the direction of these pulls changes as the earth spins.

It's mainly the moon, less from the sun.

it is only the moon that causes tides ( the solar tide would be completely negated by average wind driven tides )

and the simple explanation is the moons gravity pulls at the water as the Earth turns beneath it ( and also the correct answer )
