I had my first period since my baby was born after he started solids in early jan. I had my first period in late jan, it was very light and short and I have not had one since. About 3 weeks ago, my son went on a nursing strike and I had to give him formula from a bottle for a few days, but eventually got him back to breast feeding 2 times a day now and have been doing so since. Today I have very light brown bleeding, a sore tummy and feel sick. Do periods return to a normal cycle after child birth? ARe they heavier or lighter than usual? I was on a very regular cycle before I had my baby. Or could it be implantation bleeding???

Well... all I can say is you need to take a hpt or go to the doctor to be sure one way or the other whether or not you're pregnant. I was pregnant with number 2 when number 1 was only 6 months old... only I had NO clue!!!! When I finally realized it I was already 2 mos preggo and hubby & I both were mortified!!! I hadn't had a period recently, but I wasn't worried b/c my cycle was still so irregular (from nursing baby number 1). So, I just wanted to say that being pregnant is definitely a possibility if bfing is the only bc you're using right now. Just know that having them close together is actually a type of blessing :) I wouldn't change it for the world now. They're 21 mos and 36 mos lol.

Your period should return to normal after childbirth but since you are breastfeeding, that may put it off for a few more months. Lately you've been breastfeeding on and off...that may be the reason why your body and your period is a little off or a little out of whack. The BEST thing to do is to go see your OB-GYN to make sure everything is okay and normal. It's better to seek professional opinion and let them answer your questions rather than speculate what could be causing your symptoms.
