Vodou is a religion just any other. Part of Vodou is belief or faith but the rest is not. I have seen amazing things. I personally was healed by the lwa without asking. I had high blood pressure and on the lwa healed me without my asking. Suffice to say that was very interesting and made me want to learn more. Things can happen without you needed to believe. If you attend a fet (service) I guarantee things will happen that you will not believe but you will feel something. I when into the religion an outsiders, a curious person, a skeptic. I am not only a believer but I practice the religion.
Just know it is not evil or dark. It is a beautiful religion that focuses on positive aspects of life. Helping the community, the family, and the house members. Healing, spiritual help, and above all a big sense of family. My house members are family to me. The Mambo and Hougan (priests) are like my mom and dad. The main difference is they are my spiritual mom and dad.
