I can't start my laptop because of the error message "unmountable boot volume" What can I do?

It's a Dell Inspiron 8130, and it did not come with a windows XP disk.

You need to get a windows CD/DVD from somewhere, format your hd and reinstall windows. It's the only way.

take the hard drive out
put it in an external enclosure
hook that enclosure up to another PC

in the command prompt run the command: "chkdsk /r" without the "s
