I need to make notecards for English class and I want to do it on the computer. What suggestions for programs should I use?

I would like to use Word, but I have not been able to get it to orient right.

FYI, I have a HP 970Cse printer.

In my Word, there is no 3x5 index card function.

I tried resizing the paper myself but the printer did not print it correctly. All I saw was a very fain attempt at printing. I saw that the printer did it in the right place, but the lines weren't dark enough.

Think you got the first part right. You either have to choose the preset index card function or if in your case there is no index card option, then you manually configure the size of the paper.

Now your issue... if the printer is already printing in the right position, it means you managed to fit the paper in and the sliders are all in place.

So assuming that your printer and cartridges are all ok (you can easily test it by printing the same thing on normal paper). The fact that it is printing faintly means that your print modes are off.

You need to go to your Print Quality portion to select your print mode. Make sure it is not in photo mode. You should choose plain paper (NOT photo paper) so that the pigmented black ink is used. If you want it darker, you can choose best mode to make sure more ink goes on the index card.

Hope this helps.
