Anything techno / electro, because the strong beats provide a pace and makes it easier to do a "routine" generally makes for the best work out music.
But if you really can't stand it, try anything punk, for the same reasons.
You'd like Sugarcult, they'd be good to get you in that 'upbeat' frame of mind -- especially the song 'Bouncing off the Walls'... you probs know it =)

well listen to my chemical romance ( song: Welcome to the black parade) fall out boy ( song : saturday, dance dance, sugar we're going down) Evancesance( song: dont call me when youre sober and my immortal) those are some punk songs and singers. here is some rap; chamillionare, yung joc, lloyd, 50 cent, akon, sean paul ect.
