For other teams maybe but not duke. That football program is so far in the trash that one player is not gonna turn around that program. Even if that one player were lets say Tomlinson, he still has no one blocking for him. If it was Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, again no blockers and no wideout to throw to. Maybe someone like michael vick or vince young, cause then they could get the ball and just run for their lives day long, but with that defense, i dont think they can they can score 40 plus points a game all by themselves.

No, no one player in a team sport can do it all. There has to be some talent on the rest of the team. In another sport look at the early Bulls with Jordan. They stunk until they added quality players around him and he is what the top 1 or 2nd player ever in basketball.

One player cant turn any team around. Maybe in basketball, but never in football. There has never been a "One man team" in football. Way too many ways to scheme against one person.

No,not even the best coach in the world can turn a team around...the team has to turn around as a whole. The coach can only teach and steer them in the direction they need to head. Its the skill, heart, and enthusiasm that makes a player/players unite as a team.Grant it,there are probably some holes that the team needs to address,as to position wise...in which a coach can control.Nevertheless, you can still have skillfull players and NO holes, but no heart or enthusiasm to work as a team.

So,the answer to your question,as stated from the begining,is NO...NO one coach can turn around a team ALONE!

One player will not turn around Duke's football team. They are horrible. They will need more than one player.

Only if that player is Jesus Christ himself. Duke's football team might be one of the few D-I programs that actually loses money. If Duke committed half as much time improving their football program as they did sustaining their basketball program, they would be in much better shape. Right now, they're a punch line.
