Damien Rice's "Grey Room" focuses on colorlessness and trying to get out of a situation.

That might not be the best one though, I'll get more. (I loved The Giver!)

EDIT:ok, more.

1. "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap is about someone remarks that no one cares about them (people were given pills to control their emotions in The Giver) and are confused about the society they're living in.

2. "Measuring Cups" by Andrew Bird is about forcing people to conform and talks about "asssigning people a complex" (like assigning everyone a role in society in The Giver)

3. "Opposite Day" by Andrew Bird could TOTALLY be describing the day Jonas started seeing color.

"I got home this morning
With the sun right in my eyes
And there was no warning
Yes, it took me by surprise
.....
And today was supposed to be the day
Molecules decide to change their form
Laws of physics lose their sway"

Also,
"The Adventure" by Angels and Airwaves works well for Jonas

Hope you find something! I loved that book. (If you liked it I definitely recommend "Gathering Blue")
