ok. I am almost 35 weeks, but on the ultrasound last week my baby measured to 39 weeks (which would now make her 40)
I have really high blood pressure. The baby has torn all my muscles and ligaments in my belly, and my back it totally screwed (shes a really big baby!)
At the ultrasound, they discovered that she's having trouble pumping blood through the placenta, which can cause her heart to overwork, and result in a heart attack. When I went in to have her monitored yesterday, at first her heart rate was quiet low (109), and very flat... but after about 45 mins she went back to normal.
I'm not understanding why they're leaving her there? She is abviosly ready, and to me, it seems really STUPID to risk a perfectly healthy baby, and for me to be going through all this pain..
Its putting so much more stress on me, knowing that I could be going through ll this, and my baby may die..

How can I talk to the doctor about this? How can I convince her to induce me?? I'm reallyscared

When is the earliest time to have the baby when it will be able to survive without going to Special care?? I figure because she measured to 39 weeks (thats her head, thigh bone, waist ect) that she would be developed to a baby of that gesation (as in lungs and things)

I know that what you are going through right now is so stressful. if the doctors keep giving some dum reason to leave your lil baby girl in your womb when she know that her heart rate keep going up and down. I say take your concerns to another doctor who really cares for you. I dont understand when comes to newborn baby their main concern is the health of the baby inside the womb or out.

Not to along my friend just had her baby that had to take her baby because his heart rate kept goiing up and down and i remember her telling me how fast they got him out of there.

Their main concern is the baby. If you dont get no results go to another doctor and tell them your concerns

good luck hope everything goes fine.

I think they should have delivered u 2 be honest. ppl say ur baby isn't ready 2 be born am sorry but my baby boy was born at 29 weeks 6 days and weighed 2lb 14oz and he is now 6 and has been put up a year and been put on schoolwork that he should be doing 2 years from now so if i were in ur position i would rather have my baby out as it has a really good chance of survival ( and i do not what i am talking about as 4 out of my 5 kids have been premature) than risk things going wrong while still inside. Good luck and hope all is well.

You definatly need to talk to your doctor. Tell her your concerns and ask her why she would risk the baby like that. Tell her you want to be induced, or have a csection and SOON because you want your baby to live.

Good luck and I hope everything works out well for you and for your baby.

Know that if you really are only 35 weeks the baby could have breathing and eating problems, so be prepared for that.

Hun, at 35 weeks, your baby is NOT ready yet. A big baby doesn't mean the lungs are fully developed. My girls were born at 35 wks 3 days and even with steroid injections prior to birth, they still had to stay and went home on monitors. Your doc knows best. Best of luck to you.

Just to let you know, my son was born at 34 weeks and was just fine. He was 5 lbs and 2 oz and breathing on his own and went home with me 2 days later. Just tell your doctor how concerned you are and let her know that you dont understand Tell her to give you some steroid shots to develop the babies lungs, just in case and everything should be ok with the baby..

I had 2 healthy 8 pounders at 38 weeks. After talking to your dr about your concerns, if your still not satisfied get a 2nd opinion. If another dr recommends you be induced then SWITCH DOCTORS! 36 weeks is considered full term.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Sometimes you have to be upfront and demanding with doctors these days. I would go to your doctors office or call and let them know all your concerns. Make sure you write down all your questions and concerns and address them with the doctor. Don't take no for an answer if you don't feel something is right.

Good Luck!

I doubt that the posters on yahoo are equipped to answer this question for you with the information you have given. I am an obgyn md and I cannot give advice on this as the whole story is not here. sorry, but you really should be asking your doctor to explain their reasoning. tell them how nervous you are and i am sure they will take the time to reassure you of the steps they are taking to help you and the baby

It seems to me that your doctor should have taken your baby already. You need to impress on her how worried you are that your baby won't live if she doesn't induce. If you are having that much trouble, you should be delivering. I had high BP with my middle child, and no other problems, and my doc took her at 38 weeks. Just because of my high BP.

Go to labor and delivery (at the hospital) and ask to see their doctor. Tell them about what is going on and that you feel your doctor is wrong and risking your baby's life. They SHOULD be willing to help, the nurses know that there are incompetent doctors out there.
