"Turn, Turn, Turn" by the Birds. It's old but it recalls the cyclical nature of life and death. "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John, but that's rather cliche and overused nowadays. "People Who Died" by Jim Carroll Band. It sort of reminds me that as we get older we have a longer list of people that we know who have died. There's also a Rolling Stones song from the 70's about someone who died of a drug overdose. I don't remember the name of the song but it gets the reality of drug addiction right (least as far as I can tell).

Black bird is good too. But I would say Imagine by John Lennon ranks pretty high for me.
