Mine is "get this paper" by Rich Boy off his new album, Rich Boy. I like this song because it has a good beat. And he is relating this song to his life, and what's going on in the world today.

My absolute fave is the aria 'Erbarme dich' from Bach's St Matthew Passion.

Otherwise, Twist & Shout as performed by The Isley Brothers because wow! I dance w/ delight even if I'm siting down!

'A Boy Named Sue' by Johnny Cash because it's so rowdy & funny

'Alabama 1959' because of it's unsentimental truth

'Big Rock Candy Mountain' because my dad is so fond of it and we sing it toogether

our national (US) anthem because I'm sentimentally patriotic and my dad likes to hear it on Memorial Day and because I can actually hit all the notes & show off! :D

'It's a Wonderful World' --my niece-age 6 loves me to sing it,

the song 'My Heart is a Hen & She's Layin fer you' from Schckilie's (aka PDQ Bach) Oedipus Tex because I love to laugh,

most anything by The Mamas and The Papas, the Beatles, Donovan. The Kinks, Janis Joplin--in no paticular order

'Ridente la calma' --Mozart, because it does calm my spirit,

'Ce que je suis sans toi' by Gounod because my Rob loved me to sing it--in English though or I feel--and sound-as if I'm strangling

'Non so piu cosa' by Moart because I just love singing it (tho. I have to transpose it for my 1st soprano voice which does make it sound whimpy)

'Cheerily Carols the Lark over the Cot' becuase it's such fun going thr. the histrionics of Gilbert&Sullivan's Mad Margaret

'I am the Very Model of a Major General' because I can actually sing it in tempo--fast (til someone begs me to stop!)

'Barney Google w/ his Goo-Goo-Googly Eyes' because it's fun

'WhenDay is Done' because it's romantic and subtly sexy

'In My Life' by Lennon & McCartney because it's simply lovely
'Yellow Submarine' because it's fun, silly and my niece loves it

The Rose of Tralee, When I Dream of Old Erin, The Hat My Father Wore --these because I'm Irish maybe

Danny Boy because it's hauntingly lovely (tho. I can't sing or hear it w/o crying)

Mine seem to change from day to day. Today it's These days by Alien Ant Farm there's something about it that I like I can't put my finger on it though.....

Oh and Morris Brown by OutKast cos there's a happy feel to it.

My favorite artist is Fall Out Boy and I'm in love with all of their songs, I really couldn't pick one. (current fave -- Hum Hallelujah)

But my absolute favorite song ever is "Someday You Will Be Loved" by Death Cab for Cutie. I love the lyrics and the music.
