Do it for yourself, not for the book. Write for you. Let out the passion, hate, realization, and drama of the relationship as you felt it. Relive it and then pour it out on paper. Don't worry about plot, things you don't know, etc. Just start where ever you feel most inclined. It doesn't even have to go in chronological order. Just write as you feel.

I asked pretty much the same question. One advice is to do a story outline where you write down (shortly) whats going to happend in your book. It helps! You can start anywhere you want and work yourselves to the ends. Say that you starts with My husband and I devorsed. Just that. Then you start woundering about what will happend before and after the devorse. How do I keep my reader hooked to the story? When you got the basic story its time to deepened it. Fill in the missing parts. Then think about the story: Is this exciting enough? Can I describe it better? If you have to much, what can I take away without trouble and confusing the readers?
Then its time to start the hard work of writing and rewriting until youre done. If youre not sure, try to get a friend to read it and get some input from a potential reader.
Remember that you can always ad things to the story! Youre the writer. If the reality isnt good enough then change it! Johan
And think about your spelling when youre writing. No one will read a book filled with grammar and spell errors! Johan

Firstly noval is spelled "novel." If you want to write a book, you have to discipline yourself, take the time to write. Some authors write an outline before they actually write the novel; others do not. Reading is a good to help you become a better writer.

Well writing a novel is big work, I've started three and haven't finished a darn one yet. Tell everything in descriptive detail, obviously not the part about "we walked to class together" if a big event happened after that then yeah you might want to say it. But it's your book, you can do what you want with it.

PLEASE surf through Resolved Questions and current Questions - I have answered this question about 40 times this week alone.
The best way to decide what to include is to write an outline first then edit it. C.

Unless you kill him in the end...or he tries to you it sounds boring. Probably only people that will enjoy reading it, is people that know you. Sorry...just my opinion
