Go and rent the movie Cold Mountain. I think that's a good example of tragic irony. (But you don't find out until the end.) It has Jude Law and Nicole Kidman. Natalie Portman is also in it. The love story is amazing and makes up the irony component.

similar to othercritic who have answered your question plays by william shakespeare are great example of dramatic irony. Look at Julius Caesar.

it particularly is be any action picture that starts off on the tip then is going back to tell the back tale. as an occasion, slum dogs millionaire, nonetheless this is in all probability not the best occasion. We already recognize he's triumphing the million money whilst he would not. Or massive. all of us recognize the deliver will sink yet hte character do not.

Check out the movie Crash. Plenty of irony there.

I second Romeo and Juliet as the best example...specifically, when Romeo finds Juliet sleeping, thinks she is dead, and kills himself, but the audience knows she isn't dead.

The ending of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"

Ironic that the place she returns to is the place from which she stole her knowlege (the manual). Tragic that she chose to end her life.

In the Chronicles of Riddick, we know that the necromungers are people, before the attack, no one else does.
