in the wild? Like any other fish, they see it floating by and grab it. Most will dart back into an anemone for protection. They will also grab food they don't normally eat and feed it to their host anemone. It is a mutual arrangement. The clown will also take food from the anemone which catches excessive amounts. He will remove non food sources to protect the host as well.

They will eat just like any other fish - flakes, pellets, freeze-dried foods like brine shrimp, mussels, clams, squid, etc. if cut into small enough pieces. They also should have a little seaweed in their diets.

In the wild, they just chase down and eat (or ambush) small shrimp or worms and they will pick at dead animals that other animals have killed,
