well an equation of a line is y=mx+b and the m is its slope and b is the y-intercept (simple right?)

well in your situation, y=8x
the slope is simply 8 and the y-intercept is 0 (if there is no b in the equation then the y-intercept is 0)

the slope tells how steep a line is
while the y-intercept is where the line intersects the y-axis

slop is 8 because in y=mx+b form the numer x is multplied by is the slope. the x intercept is (0,0) beacuse when 0 is subbed into the equation (in a y intercept the x coordinate is always 0) the answer is 0
y=8x
y=8(0)
y=0
Therefore the y intercept is (0,0)

use slope-intercept form: y = mx + b where m is slope and b is the intercept.

Using that, the slope is 8 and the intercept is 0

y intercept= 0 because you never added anything
slope is 8 over 1 because the change in x is 1 and the change in y is 8.
