What is your favorite subject in U.S. History?

I think Salk finding the polio vaccine.

Does it have to be political? Then I'd say it would have to be V-J Day, when the Japanese signed the peace treaty after WWII after our 2 atom bombs destroyed Hiroshima & Nagasaki.

A subject that I really enjoyed studying in US History (when I was in high school) was the Vietnam War. I wouldn't say it's my favorite moment in history--incredibly tragic and sad--but it definately bears importance, and it is something we can learn a great deal from.

I also loved studying the civil rights movement of the 60's. MLK Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech gives me goosebumps and makes me cry every time I see it. It's the epitome of beauty.
