I am 30 weeks pregnant and my doctor says that I have gestational diabetes, here are my results for the glucose tolerance test:
Fasting-75,
1 hr- 172,
2 hr-152,
3hr -127.
My doctor has reffered me to an endocrinologist whom I have yet to meet,
My problem is that when I checked online I found two different set of diagnostic criteria, and when I spoke to my doctor abt this she said that there are two different criteria for diagnosis of gestational diabetes and that I qualify by the classic test, and not by the newer classification.
Please help...Does anyone know if these results mean that i have diabetes.....

This Diabetes will go away as soon as you give birth. You should check your blood sugar at least twice daily. You should eat snacks such as peanut butter crackers in between meals. Check the sugar amounts in anything prepackaged, you would not believe how much sugar is in foods until you check. You should try to keep your blood sugar under 200.

If you do not keep your blood sugars low, you could have a large baby.

Try not to worry. This is something that happens all of the time. I had G. D. and had my blood sugar checked several times since and I do not have diabetes. Please do not worry about that.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

at 28 weeks I had my 3 hour glucose test and my results were fasting-85 1 hour-147, 2nd hour-112, and 3rd hour 95. My doc said that was passing with flying colors...I'm not sure why your are considered having gestational diabetes they want you below 140 on the hour test...maybe you need to ask more indepth questions at your next visit because I find this strange.

I had it with my middle child. It was easy to manage. I had to test my sugar 4 times a day; on waking, 2 hours after each meal and before bed. The guideline is actually 140 or less. Just follow what the dietician says, and you'll be fine.

after 1 hour your blood sugar level should have been closer to 100. you're not producing enough or you are and your body is not absorbing it correctly. an endocrinologist is your best bet for better clarification on all of this.

when i was 7 weeks they had me take a glocise test suprisingly and i was 63 after an hour. sort of low but not dangerous. now i test every once in awhile after i eat and its usually between 110-125. not too bad but its not dangerous either.
