You may visit anytime of your choice at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The peak time during celebrations could be the the best time for some and may not be the best for others. The temple, otherwise, draw lots of devotees every time anytime.

Places To Visit In Amritsar

there is no best time where visiting the Golden temple is concerned but yes, Amritsar has extreme climate, gets really hot in the summers & winters it gets rather cold. so u could plan depending which weather u would like to avoid. usually towards the end of Nov & mid Dec is Guru Nanak's birthday & there are many celebrations & festivities there then. u could keep that in mind too when u plan to visit. while u visit Amritsar, do not forget there are some other places worth seeing. especially the Jalianwala Bagh, that place is sure to send shivers down your spine.

May and June are the hotest months (and July-August are REALLY hot too)... Winter can be really cold. October/November and February/March are the best as far as weather goes... but watch out for Diwali - it's hard to get places to stay during the holiday seasons...
