I have Cingular, and when I get new email my phone alerts me and gives me the option to check it, but I dont. Am I getting charged for the alert even though I dont check it?

Cingular should not charge you as you are only using data. However Cingular does try to take all your money, so I'm not sure. I know T-mobile does not charge you for this
