no,, it mostly just ruins the free time they have. you should get all the teaching you need in school, you're there for 8 hours a day, dang.

It depends.. I think some homework is okay but to give homework just to give it is a bunch of crap! I'm in high school and trust me by the time I get home from school, volunteering babysitting, and I'm starting t ajob now. It takes up most of my time some times I don't have any homework somedays its reasonsable and I only have maybe 30 or less minutes but other days all the teachers decided to give iton the same day if u have 7-8 classes and if they only give 30 minutes for each class thats stilll 4hours!

Some homework does. The stuff that people would call "busy work" doesn't help.

TRUE homework is supposed test a student's long-term memory and understanding of the concepts you taught them that day. It's a form of assessment for the teacher - you'll see if you need to reteach the concepts.

Come on ... It depends on the homework.

When you assign homework, ask yourself what the purpose of the homework is. Go over it in class the next day. If they got it, well, the homework helped them.

If they didn't get it, the assignment failed, but homework? It depends on the assignment.

yes. i remember the material more and discover things i missed in class. if i didn't have homework, i bet i'll be really behind. homework also lets you see which things you have trouble with and which you understand.

it's not that i love HW. most times, it stresses me out and i don't really want to do it but i know it's important

I think it does; it helps them not only learn the subject they are studying, but in a more abstract way, it helps them learn to meet deadlines, and prepare presentations to a certain standard.

no - it is overkill in teaching. Better to have 15-yrs of public school and then college. There is enough subjects to master before college and its in depth learning
