Cancer is a genetic disease. That means it is a disease that results from progressive changes in the genetic makeup of the cancer cells. Those changes occur either in the code of the DNA (mutations) or in the expression of the DNA (epigenetic changes).

some DNA strands can carry cancerous strands. so when a child is born and the mother has or had cancer there is a very strong chance of the baby eventually evolving to have cancer
