Here are a couple of links:

Starting with 1880, you may want to look into Porfirio Diaz, who ruled Mexico with an iron fist for the first 1/3 (or so) of your century of interest.

Diaz fell during the Mexican Revolution, which started in 1910. A series of presidents and rulers controlled Mexico during those years.

The Revolution was a bloody and somewhat confusing contest for its first 4 years. Eventually 3 leaders emerged: Pancho Villa (who briefly invaded the U.S.), Carranza, and Obregon. They ruled over Mexico, settling their political disuptes with armies for the next 6 years. Eventually, Obregon took over and provided a somewhat stable rule for 4 years:

Obregon was succeeded by Plutarco Calles, whose personal antipathy toward the Catholic Church ed to another (the Cristo) revolution between Catholic and anti-clerical forces:

Calles ruled, directly or indirectly, until 1934 when Cardenas took power. Cardenas nationalized the oil industry, provided serious land reforms, and modernized the Mexican education system. Cardenas was a very honest leader and his reign effectively ended the Mexican Revolution.

Callas, Cardenas, and Camacho (Cardenas's successor) built up the PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party) that ruled Mexico for the rest of the 20th Century.
