Call your mom and explain things to her over the phone, she'll give you as much advice as she could due to the fact that she's not present. Then if your cramps get bad or you really don't feel well, take a pain killer, trust me it'll help. A menstrual cycle usually lasts from 3-7 days, depending on the flow of blood. Your body will deside that for you though. You'lll know when you stop passing blood on the tissue.
Good Luck:)
Ps. Don't forget to change your pad when it gets to full/heavy and if your not sure on how to use a tampon I suggest you wait.
Don't worry hun, you can do it!

Periods last anywhere from 3-7 days on average depending on the person. You know your period is over when you stop passing blood and tissue. Many women will still have a discharge a day or two after the bleeding slows down so you might want to wear a panty liner a day or so after the bleeding appears to have slowed/stopped.

A normal menstural flow lasts 3-5 days, I believe. When you are just begining to have menstrual cycles, they can be very irregular at first. Your first cycle may be very light and short and you may have another bleeding episode w/in a couple of weeks. If your mom has sanitary napkins (kotex, etc), you can borrow hers until she gets back. Otherwise, maybe a friend can go to the store w/ you or for you to get some pads.
I know it can be really embarassing at first. I used to be mortified buying "femine hygeine products" when I was younger. I used to pray for an old woman checker. The embarassment wears off after awhile when you realize that every woman has periods and it's just a normal (and healthy) part of life.
If you experience pain, you can take tylenol or ibuprofen. A hot shower or bath can ease cramps too. Get pleanty of rest and take care of yourself.

That can be a tricky question. When I first got my periods they would sometimes stop for a day and then start for a day more. It was so frustrating. A normal period shouldn't last for more than 7 days. So, just to be safe, take precautions for at least that long. I also learned that you bleed much more at first then at last. So if you notice a really light day, and the next day you notice nothing, you're probably done. Don't worry, it gets easier to deal with as you go along.

I been having periods for awhile now, so I will share with you how I know from mine. Normally when the bleeding goes from heavy to light, your period is getting ready to go off. My answer to you is: When your bleeding begins draining or getting light, your period is about to go off. You should now use a panty liner. Now whenever you use the restroom and wipe, if you don't see any blood, your cycle has ended. When your urine is clear and you see no blood in the tissue, then your period has stopped.

Call your mom and tell her over the phone. She can let your dad know and he'll get you what you need. Otherwise, the school nurse or a friend's mom can help you until your mom comes home. It usually lasts about a week at first. Or, write your dad a note saying what type of pad you'd like him to pick up--try Always with wings.

the flow will gradually decrease (and maybe get darker, since the blood is older), but usually about a week or so. first time is the weirdest-it gets more predictable after a while. It'll just stop, though, but if it doesn't after more than a week, maybe you should talk to somebody---anybody!

Well it'll get lighter and lighter after a few days, just keep putting lighter pads on. There's often a few days where you might think it's over but still get a little blood, to be safe wear a small pad for a day or so.

It usually lasts 3-7 days and should call your mom to tell her. Go to a store and get pads. If you get cramps get Advil or Tylenol.
