Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.

This song really showed off two of the thing Zeppelin is famous for, Robert Plant's amazing lyrical and singing abilities and Jimmy Page's heart-stopping guitar playing, especially on his solo. From the first line, I could tell this was one of, if not the, best written song of all time. The imagery that Robert is describing makes you feel like your in another world, and that feeling is complimented by Jimmy Page. Just before Robert sings "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow", John Bonham kicks in with some, as always, incredible drumming(it's a shame what happened to him, he was the greatest drummer), and the electric guitar comes in. As the song get's a more driving feeling, it builds up until it explodes with the intentsity of Jimmy Page's guitar solo, but it doesn't stop there. At the closing of Jimmy Page's guitar solo, Robert sings my second favorite part of the song(the first being Jimmy's guitar solo).
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The truth will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll

Gladly will I answer your question ---
First of all, my favorite song, EVER, would have to be "Headfirst For Halos" by My Chemical Romance.
Reason: Well, the lyrics really kind of 'cheer me up' in a way...
This song is about when you are so depressed you're considering suicide, and how you should think about all the good things in your life instead of the bad. The lines: "Now the red ones make me fly, and the blue ones help me fall" are refering to anti-depressants. The line "Think Happy Thoughts" is repeated throughout the song, giving a clear message to its meaning.

As Gerard Way put it himself: "This song is about suicide - don't do it."

Good Luck! Hope ya get a bunch of answers!

Kiss Me in the Dark by the Randy Rogers Band
Its my favorite cause the first time I heard it I was with my boyfriend and we both loved the song. We text and email each other the words sometimes. Or we'll just text the radio station number to each other so we can both listen to it at the same time. I know, its corny. BUT that's our song. That's why I love it so much.

Riders on the Storm by the Doors. They were such a free spirited group and I would have loved to live in their day. Jim Morrison was soooo hot! I love this song because it tells it like it is.

"Your Song"-Elton John-- When I was a teen I was infatuated with an older guy that had just came back from a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was suffering from PTSD,he was going through a very hard time.Anyway,I wound up staying with him.He had a cabin in the Colorado mountains and we spent all summer together. He made me so happy and I know that in my heart I really loved and cared for him.I had to leave him because I had to start college that fall,I moved to Austin,Tx.I got a letter from him saying goodbye. He committed suicide.

My favourite song of all time is Friend for Life by Steve Harley. I know you probably haven't heard of it but it has the most beautiful lyrics and is sung brilliantly.
