I am 37 weeks pregnant! I have been having horrible pains in my pubic area. It feels as if my bones are grinding together. Sometimes I even hear a clicking noise. It gets worse trying to do activities such as rolling over in bed, or putting pants on. Laying down in bed is horrible. Stairs are impossible. I am going to go to my doctor but it's over an hour away so any advice before I leave???

Has anyone heard of symphisis pubis dysfunction. I researched everything and pretty much this is everything I am feeling and dealing with. It says it can only be helped with physiotherapy and pain killers and crutches. It says it will go away after the baby? Has anybody really been diagnosed with this??

I would just take it easy. The baby will come anytime now. I had the same problem when I was pregnant...and it lasted a bit longer. The last several weeks were horrible for me. I couldn't breathe when I slept on my back, couldn't bear the pain when I slept on my side because of the pressure/pain in my pubic area - so it felt like I didn't sleep at all then. All you can really do is bear it...rest when you can, try focusing on other things. Don't stay on your feet for long periods. Sleep with pillows between your legs, and on your side underneath your belly, use plenty. And good luck!

Wow, I'm glad someone else is feeling this too. I thought something was wrong with me. I'm 34 weeks and it hurts SO bad in my "crotch area", generally... Rolling over is a nightmare! Sometimes when I get up to walk to the bathroom I just stop and I can't move! It's VERY painful. I go to the doctor tomorrow... so I guess you will find out sooner than me!

Tell your doctor about it. Take some tylenol and try to relax. It happens this late in pregnancy you pelvic bones are shifting to make head room for the baby to come down through the birth cannal. It all part of the glory that is child bearing.

Your bones are separating, and it HURTS. I had the same problem. It felt like the baby was going to pop the bone in half! The good news is that once the baby "drops" it goes away. Until then, you pretty much just have to put up with it.

maybe your baby's head is down in your pelvis, and that is what is causing the noise, i know alot of ppl who hear just about the same noises you do, and their dr. told them not to worry, and seeing as how your going to be leaving soon to go to the dr i would say definately not to worry! and make sure you let all of us know how everything turns out! Good luck

Try to get your man to slip you a nice quickie then the baby will pop out. Basically your pelvic bones are opening up to prepare for the birth and a baby's head to fit through your coccyx.
Try walking around naked, that way you don't have to put any pants on.
