Alot of people said the random things I was going to say.. lol oh well.
Cotton jeans only!!
Use sand paper, cheese grater, nail file or the edge of scissors(like how you curl ribbon, rub one side of the open scissors across the pants) It's important to do this in one direction.
I remember I didn't really like this one pair of jeans, so I did this and even painted my room while wearing them ( white paint base coat)
just sort of throw small drips of the paint and it looks pretty nice. It's said that the rips stay the same if they're above the knees, though be careful about showing skin! thay can't be higher upthan your average shorts.

but on shooes go out side and put ur pants on over ur shooes and walk on the side walk for a whilerub them on the curb as well, use rocks and stuff ot rip them, and the bleaches look ur looking for is from a old style of stone washing people would lay their jeans in a river and put rocks on them to stay where ever the rocks were a worn out sopt would be, now im guess u don have a river or a long time to do that, so becareful wit bleach that stuff is nasty!!

try using sand paper. it may seem hard at first but it will work. also try using a sharper razor like maybe a mans razor. hope that helps!

dont rip your own jeans. They wont make them look vintage. It just looks crappy.
