Well here is the story...

I got caught shoplifting the first time when I was a minor and I recieved one year probation. I got caught again about two weeks ago, ( I know im an idiot, I SWEAR i will never do it again) anyway, I have court tommorrow morning. When i was sitting in the room and the cop sited me an arrest, he told me I have a past conviction of Felony Theft, i guess it was because I ripped off the electric tag or something...

Anyways, what is going to happen to me?

This is my second offense, and I have a prior of I guess Felony Theft when i was a minor!?

Whats going to happen to me?? Help??

Quit freaking out, your going to get probation again, probably some community service and be forced to pay restitution, and more than likely be banned from whatever store you stole from. However this will be your second strike so dont do it again or else prison is in your future.

One would like to know what jurisdiction you are in (which State), and the value in dollars of the merchandise you tried to steal, in order to fully answer. But in general, shoplifting is a misdemeanor, which allows for up to one year in jail, not more. However, it is usual, as other answers tell you, for you to get supervision, community service, a fine and restitution.

If you shoplift because you need money for drugs, or because you like the thrill (which is kleptomania), then you will probably do this again, despite your promise. If either of those are the case, you need some mental health help.

Get an attorney. If you cannot afford one the court will appoint one. Contact the court ASAP. With an attorney you may get probation. Without one you may get jail time. Don't steal!!! Get a job, no matter how small it is.

Tell the judge you would like Adult Deversion. You pay a fine do some community service and it does not go on your record. Also convey to the judge that you are remorsful for what you did and mean it.

Since you are a slow learner, hopefully you will do a little time and learn your lesson this time!
