Most speculation I've read indicates that it'll be a parallel twin, not a V, using basically 2/3 of the Rocket III engine, giving approximately a 1.5 litre engine. That's still going to have huge amounts of torque.

evaluating a Triumph engine to the different engine of any configuration is like evaluating apples to oranges. The camshaft grind has extra effect than the different unmarried engine element as to the place the torque height lies or the form of the torque curve. optimistic, the carb/throttle physique throat diameter, exhaust pipe diameter/length/configuration, compression ratio, ignition timing, firing order and timing (360 diploma crank whilst in comparison with one hundred eighty diploma to illustrate), unmarried or double gasoline injectors, piston and combustion chamber shape/layout all have some effect, yet no longer almost as plenty using fact the camshaft grind. Incidental, all issues being equivalent, a ninety diploma engine has greater low rpm torque output than will an inline engine. continuously has, continuously will. Honda found out that whilst they replaced the 1st 40 5 diploma (i think of) V-twin Ascots from a straightforward crank pin to a twin throw ninety diploma crank. Yamaha did 2 on their cutting-edge 4 cylinder engine with the ninety diploma throws (certainly equipped like 2 ninety diploma twins sandwiched at the same time).
