No, there are automatic transmissions too, but few in number. You need to make a special order at the car dealership, and find a reliable mechanic; not many are familiar with the automatic transmission.

Like others have mentioned, there are cars here that are automatic transmission, however it is rarer than in the states. Can someone here teach you how to drive a stick? It is fairly easy to learn (I learned on the psycho hills of San Francisco--it is a lot flatter here) and it is nice to have the ability to drive any type of car.

Yes, generally. Most cars sold and driven here are with stick shifts. Only very few drive cars here are with automatic transmissions. If that's the car you want to drive when you get back here, you better inquire which car companies sell one here. I won't advise you to import one as it might turn out very costly if you do the importation by yourself. Aside from that, you might incur unnecessary delay in getting it out of customs.

honda, toyota, mitsubishi, ford, bmw sell cars with automatic transmissions.. they have started to increase due to the volume of traffic in the philippines. you will have to pay a little extra for an A/T but they have those here..
