yes, as someone who had to use medical marijuana myself, I know the suffering, I was lucky enough not to die, but those judges make me sick! It should be legalized, it's the only solution... and doctors should have the final say over judges.

Christina & Deftly - I was allergic to the two other meds available for my illness, should I have just died in excruciating pain and sickness?

It's not up to the doctor. Or the judge.

Federal law prohibits the use of marijuana for any reason.
Federal law overrides state law, per the Constitution.

Until Congress changes the drug laws, the judge was doing exactly what he should have been doing -- folling the existing law.

It's amazing to me -- if a judge doesn't do what people want, because he's following the law, then he's an activist. And if a judge interprets the law in a way people don't like, he's an activist. But people expect judges to ignore the law entirely if the people don't like what the law says.

Ever heard of Morphine or Oxycodone? They're all legal with a prescription and alot more effective for pain relief than Marijuana. Even if one doctor says that its effective the judges are going to go with the hundreds of tests, testimoinals, and clinical trials that say Marijuana has no known medical benefits. It's the same old argument.

I used to work for hospice and it is pretty sad that they would withhold drugs from a dying person, even if they are illegal. They are dying, what will it hurt.

I believe the point here is that there are legal drugs that do the same thing as marijuana, so why does it have to be marijuana? No reason at all. Someone just wants to grandstand.

Yes, it would be only fair.

If a person is DYING....why do you CARE if mj is illegal? It's not hurting anybody else!

I hate to break it to you but illegal is illegal even if you're dying.

There are lots of doctors out there that have been wrong or atleast misguided. Perhaps we could reference puting leeches on to "remove the impure blood."
