A few options:
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is an antihistamine which makes you drowsy withing about 20 minutes, but it should not be used regularly or long-term.
Melatonin is a natural body hormone, but not strong. It does work for many people.
Valerian is an herb, nerve tonic and relaxer. Again, a mild remedy, not a knockout pill.
Taking about a gram of the mineral magnesium operates as a relaxer, and also a laxative.
Rather than relying on one exclusively, developing tolerance, it is probably best to use different remedies, in rotation, on different nights. Warming milk in the microwave for about 90 seconds also helps, by releasing the amino acid tryptophane. Cold milk won't work for this.

i have the same problem and there are two things i use (but not at the same time), But remember sleeps aids natural or otherwise are simply supposed to assist you in get into a regular sleep pattern and are not supposed to be used every night.
If i know i can get a full 8 hours i take "Simply Sleep". its the same sleep aid found in the popular Tylenol PM, it just doesn't have the extra medicine found in Tylenol PM that you dont need.
However if i just need to GET to sleep i find getting a generic benedryl and taking half the normal dose (useally one pill) it does the job.
I dont do either for more then two or three days in a row and i find i can stay on track. If you are having trouble with regular sleep pattern you may need to look at your diet, work schedule, stress, and most importantly your blood pressure. If you would like that info feel free to message me and ill be glad to pass on what i have learned in my 15 year battle with insomnia.

Seriously, Tylenol just came out the with Tylenol PM. It's great. i love it. No grogginess, no side effects, it's like taking an aspirin. I normally will take it, jump in a hot bath (raising your body temperature, like in a bath, and then dropping it again to normal, like getting out of the bath, signals to your body it's time to sleep) and by the time I am out, I am ready for sleepytime. I normally get a good 7 or 8 hours uninterrupted, since I can normally fall asleep but not stay asleep.
It's worth a shot!
