Love is more powerful because lust can sometimes just be a temporary feeling. A relationship based on lust usually doesn't last very long, but a relationship based on love can last forever.

I believe love is the stronger of the two. Lust is a temporary, fleeting thing. I agree that it comes around more often, but that's the way it should be. I believe that if you truly love someone, lust holds no power over you.

love is more powerful. lust has it's power, but it's short-lived. love is why years after a husband leaves his wife he still regrets not staying faithful and seeing what happened to his kids and being a part of their lives. True love is something you always remember with fondness, but the results of lust usually bring up bitterness to mind

Love should be more powerful, but in my opinion it isn't to most people. Lust creates the "I want this so bad i am going to get it, no matter what" ideal and love creates the "i need this but i don't want to screw it up. Maybe i won't go after it." The fear of being rejected when asking for a makeout is a lot less then the fear of being rejected when your whole heart is in the matter at hand. :]

my oppinion is lust though i wish it were not so. I have seen many people betrayed in a relationship because someone wanted to sleep with someone else. Also Lust is the begining attraction to someone you can not love them the moment you see them you lust affter them. Lust tends to take over the mind and offten over comes Love many mariages have been recked by lust.

lust is more powerful in the shortterm but love is more powerful longterm. others have said it too. ideally its always great when initial lust develops into love, unfortunately we have such a high divorce rate that it sort of speaks for itself. we marry in lust or lust-love states, then ease back into something more, or less depending on how you experience it.
