This is controlled by the way you set up your home page on your website. It involves what keywords you use, the description you use, and meta titles on the home and other pages. Using pay-per-click after you have properly set up your web site can also be very helpful.

Hi,
Content, content, content.
You must set up your mega tags correctly, title, keywords, description.
You may not want to name your site after your company name. It depends on whether it is a good keyword. You brainstorm keywords and come up with the ones that have a high demand and low supply.
You've heard of supply and demand haven't you?
You need at least 30 pages before the SE spiders will crawl over your site. That means good quality content. Given enough quality content and high demand keywords, the SEs will find you. The more pages the better. Five or six pages won't do it.
Remember this. People are not looking for your Web site. They will not enter your company name. They are looking for information. Information is content. SEs love quality content, the more the better.
Keywords are the key to drive visitors to your Web site.
But how do you know which keywords are the best. Ahhh! That's the question and I will give you a web site that does keyword analysis and it's free.
The Google AdWords Keyword Tool is an excellent preliminary brainstorming tool. Let's say that you have ten ideas for a theme or Site Concept. This tool gives you a superb "high level snapshot" of how profitable each of your Site Concept possibilities might be. Here's the URL: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal - remember, it's free
Here's a book you might find helpful: Increase Your Web Traffic In A Weekend by Jerry Lee Ford, Jr and William R Stanek.
Next, get this book: Search Engine Optimization - An Hour A Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin.
Hope this helps.
Kindest Personal Regards,

Hello
The answers above have got some of the ways - but not all of them. Here is how to get a site into a major search engine.
1) SEO your site so that it is both search engine and customer friendly.
2) Submit your site once - to the major search engines.
3) Work on building your links to get it higher in the search engines.
All of this can take many months.
I have put many new sites up and appearing in Google, Yahoo and MSN in just a few days.

Is important to add at least a keyword that describes your company or what is you company about in the Domain:
Exam: If you want to look for SEO Services what you type in the search engine?
SEO Services or SEO Professionals, SEO Representatives right? then if most beneficial to find your company if you in the URL add the main keyword of the service you are offering, for this case: www.seorepresentative.com can be a domain that describes the site you are going to enter to without seen it.

Hi,
First of all, PPC campaigns do work but only if you still got money for it. Yes, they could really boost your web traffic at no time, however, when the "pay" expires, your traffic will slow down too. I suggest that you have to look for long-term marketing/advertising campaigns. Essentially, when it comes to web marketing, you really have to work on things slow. Do not expect desired traffic at once because you could crash and burn. Moderate increase of traffic is normal and healthy, thus is highly recommended. So if you are new to all these stuff, hire someone or a specialist to help you with marketing and promotions. It is good that you know this stuff too, right? Just beware of scammers out there. Choose someone who is credible. Good luck!

Work your meta-tags, H1 / H2 tags, title tag and content. Build inbound links to the site. It should not take long at all to get found on the search results for your company's name.

you want to add tags tags tags to everything in the website. i personally tag one item like crazy and then copy and paste to everything else...pages, items, etc. if you just launched your website, it takes 2 weeks to 30 days to come up on search engines. also, i use yahoo for my webhosting, my mother does not. i have more pull on yahoo search than she does, i think partially due to the fact i am a yahoo hosting customer. paying per click is a big trap. if you write your website correctly, you wont need to.
