Ok, an electric fuel pump either works or it doesnt work. The fact that your engine starts tells me that your pump is fine. I would look into worn plugs, a clogged fuel filter, a restriction in your exhaust or air filter. Do a thorugh check of these items. If in doubt, then just bring your car to a garage and explain the problem, they will pinpoint the cause from there.
good luck.........

Whens the last time you changed your plugs?

I had a Beretta (nearly the samething I believe) and it went through a phase where it felt really underpower. When I hit the gas it took forever to get up to speed. It also sounded like it wasnt running well.

I changed the plugs and wires and it ran great.

Start by changing the fuel filter.

What does your mechanic say? Do you have check engine light on? If so, start there.
