Well, if it's your dream to become a historian - why not?

But I don't see really great opportunities to get rich or whatsoever...

Either you'd work for any kind of state organisation - or then for some scientific company, perhaps even Google...?

Anyway, some companies like "Swiss Re" would even employ historians just to have a wide range of ways to think in the own company.

It is probably a good career, but getting your foot in the door to a company is another question entirely. You have to have knowledge, education, and experience in your field. Say you want to be a historian at a museum. I highly suggest you major in History in college, and while in college you work part-time in a good museum in your area. Then once you graduate from college, you can apply for a job in the museum there, not necessarily the historian job as i'm sure it is very hard to come by, but maybe an office job to start out in, then once you hear of an opening in the history department, you can move in there.
