Clever clogs A 1980s variant of clever dick used by British youngsters. The term possibly has a comic-book origin, 'clogs' being used for purely alternative reasons.

Would it help to get it working if you switched on the wal-connection, clever-clogs?` An element of affectionate irony typified the initial meaning and as with many buzz-phrases. it was different when it entered the mainstream. I believe it is British/Australian
It basically means someone is very clever, (if you don't already know)
